The team at Dunboyne Friends of The Elderly, Ireland were genuinely overwhelmed with the outpouring of support and assistance offered to their elderly friends during the current severe weather event, it was evidence of the wonderful level of community spirit in the village of Dunboyne
Goodfellers tree care company delivered wood free of charge to any elderly person who required it. They were also were inundated with offers of transport and four -wheel drives. Two kind local nurses who were snow bound in the village offered their services Roisin Thompson and Ann Connolly.
“Hi I’m a registered Nurse snowed in in Dunboyne – just wondering if there is anyone stuck in Dunboyne that Public health nurses can’t get to ? For insulin administration or leg dressing or meds administered ?? I’m free and happy to help!!” “ I’m also a nurse and snowed in to Dunboyne. I’m also happy to help if anyone needs nursing support during the day” – Two kind nurses on standby in the village should the need arise
Many thanks to all who contacted us with offers of support, over the past few days- it is much appreciated and another testament to the excellent levels of community spirit in the lovely village of Dunboyne.
