On this week’s show of Meath By The Minute, presenter Aiveen Cully Dunne talks us through some of the local news stories and events that happened across County Meath in the last couple of weeks. First we had The Wayne Smith Memorial Tractor Run which is a fundraiser held in Castletown each year to raise funds for a family affected by Motor neurone disease. Our second feature is from St Mary’s Catholic Church in Navan as the singers from the Diocese of Meath were busy rehearsing for the visit of Pope Francis in a few weeks time. Next up was St James Festival in Athboy, an event held to highlight the community spirit in the town and it’s diverse and active clubs, social groups, societies and sports teams. Our fourth feature was the Duleek Teenage Revival Programme. The Programme was set up by Councillor Sharon Keogan to nurture a spirit of co-operation and pride throughout the Duleek Community with the local teenagers playing a prominent part. Two top sporting events of the week were The Meath Heritage Cycle and the Alanna 6k memorial run/walk. We were there to capture the wonderful moments at both events while remembering Alanna ‘s beautiful smile. #forever8 Our thoughts are always with Keith, Ruth and family!! Finally Shay Casserly took some video footage of Ablefest, Ireland’s first-ever music festival for people with disabilities and sent it in to us. We put together this little feature. Meath By The Minute promotes the positive news stories in County Meath and captures the wonderful events taking place. Stay tuned for more coming your way soon!!
